General Information

The Swedish Association of Physicists has arranged a National Physics Competition since 1976. The competition has two stages, the first is a combined qualification and team competition. The first stage consists of a set of eight theoretical problems, one in English. About 1000 students from 150 schools participate in the first stage. The three best students from each school constitute a team and the six best teams receive money prizes. The 10-15 individually best students are invited to the second stage in Stockholm. The first day they solve experimental problems and the second day they are confronted with a set of written theoretical problems. The six best participants receive money prizes and we also select among the second stage participants the five students that will represent Sweden at the International Physics Olympiad.
