— The course is considered advanced, but the content of physics is basically first years physics. We then dealed with some simplified physical models for biological systems, which are interesting, however, I found there is a lack of a further overview of biophysics. Maybe talking about more the current investigation of this field would complement the course. You could also give more reference books, or even articles, instead of following only one book (which for my taste, it's not good). I expected too much of this course before doing it.

Grade = 4 (one comment)
— It was very interesting to see what we can do with our physics while looking at a biological system. I never thought that way and it was a nice experience and I learned a lot about biology as well as physics.

Grade = 5 (one comment)
— For a student without strong biological background, the course provided a good introduction to the topic in general and how some of its problems are adressed from a physical point of view.

— Personally I found the book torturing to read, and definetely unsuitable for a last year undergraduate physics student. The part of physics could be much more direct and save some useless talking. Mixing mathematics expressions with text is estetically not very nice. Moreover, it can also save some words when describing biological processes if it includes more schemes and pictures, which would be more helpful. It should decide its target readers, and not try to be either for physicists or biologists, because the result is quite a bad mixture. Biophysics is much more interesting.

— I liked Nelsons book. He explaines sometimes a bit too detailed. But in the end he manages to do the diffucult stuff.

Grade = 3 (one comment)
— sometimes too much information for a 8-week course

Grade = 4 (one comment)
— The book is well-structured and always easy to follow, but sometimes also a little lengthy. However, due to its structure, one can well skim through it.

— Teacher could ask more in the presentations, it would be useful for all the students (including the one who is presenting), either to highlight some important points or to show they were really listening.

Grade = 3 (one comment)
— one should reflect the presentations otherwise there won´t be a learning effect.

Grade = 4 (3 comments)
— A little more efficient way of learning than writing assignment reports. The fact that the topics were covered by a group was also helpful since central aspects of each chapter have briefly been depicted by different persons.
— The main point of some of the presentations were unclear. A motivating idea at the beginning may have been helpful.
— Fun and interesting but one mostly gains knowledge in the topic of ones own presentation.

Grade = 5 (one comment)
— I liked the group work very much and that we could help each other to understand the whole chapter. And the presentation in the end helped to understand the own part in much more detail. I learned very much by doing the presentations.

— It was really nothing to be frightened of.

— The teachers were nice to guide students instead of making them stress when they were stuck. Discussion-based exams are well-oriented, because students can learn also during the exam (make some concepts better understood), and I really support it!
— The exam was very comfortable but sometimes I was not sure what was expected from me.

Grade = 5 (2 comments)
— you learn a lot in talking about physics, but more work than written exams.
— the course was very interesting for me. I would like to appreciate all of you.I also prefer to have some problem solving time under supervision of lecturer or higher level students.
