Examination


The examination for the course has three components:

Project reports/presentations

Project reports for module A and module C projects must be handed in before the deadline (see schedule). Late reports will automatically be given a lower grade. After the hand-in of the module A project report there will a 15 minutes long compulsory code feedback session (in week 38, Sept. 17-21). Sign-up sheets for these sessions will be provided during the course.

For module B, there will be one 15 minutes oral presentation per group. Sign-up sheets will be provided during the course. You must also send your module B code(s) by e-mail to Tobias and Bosse before the deadline (the deadline is typically one or two days before the oral presentations, see schedule).

Written examination

Written exam at the end of course, duration 4 hours, with (typically) eight exam problems.


Grades

a. Project part of the course

Each of the three project gives a maximum score of 20 points. To pass a project you need to hand-in your report before the deadline and get 10 points or more for that project. To get the grade G (= 'pass') for this part of the course you need to pass all three projects (module A,B and C). To get the grade VG (='pass with distinction') you need to pass all three projects and have a score >=45 points.

b. Written exam

The written exam gives a maximum of 40 points. To get the grade G you need >= 20 points. To get the grade VG you need >= 30 points.

Total grade for course

To get the total grade G for FYTN03 you need to get 'pass' on a. and b. above. To get the grade VG you need to get 'pass' on a. and b. above and a have total score (summed score of a. and b.) >= 75 points.
